The SNES audio subsystem features the Sony SPC700 co-processor driving an 8-voice S-DSP. Each voice plays BRR-compressed samples with per-voice ADSR envelopes, pitch modulation, echo, and noise generation. The 64KB audio RAM holds all instrument samples.
